Mutual fund's Company Investment in Sharemarket..
There are six licensed mutual fund schemes run by five merchant Banks so far in Nepal. They are Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1) scheme value of Rs 50 crore, Siddhartha Equity Oriented Scheme (SEOS) scheme value of 100 crore, Laxmi Value Fund-1 scheme value of Rs 50 crore, Nabil Balanced Fund-1 scheme value of 50 crore , NIBL Samriddhi Fund-1scheme value of Rs 100 crore and NMB Sulav Investment Fund-1 scheme value of Rs 75 crore.
As per the financial statement published by six Mutual Fund Schemes as of Shrawan end, 2072; in total Rs 4.22 arba amount of investment is seen in the shares of listed companies of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited.
The highest chunk of this investment has gone into buying the shares of commercial banks. As per the analysis done by ShareSansar, it has been found that 57.45%, which translates into massive Rs 2.42 arba is invested in shares of commercial banking sector alone.
Whereas the mutual fund schemes,till the end of Jestha had invested a total of 55.85% in commercial bank sector, an amount of Rs 1.85 arba.
The microfinance sector has emerged a distant second to attract investments from mutual funds. Mutual funds have invested Rs 44.61 crore in the shares of microfinance companies, which is 10.56% of their combined investments in stocks.
The mutual fund schemes have a total investment of 8. 13% in life insurance sector, which is worth Rs 34.33 crore
As per the report of Jetha end, mutual fund schemes had an investment on only 6.95 % in life insurance sector, which was worth Rs 23.18 crore.
The rest of the pie is divided as follows: Development banking sector (26.56 crore or 6.29%),Non-life Insurance companies (Rs 26.47 crore or 6.27%), Hydropower sector (Rs 25.65 crore or 6.07%), Telecommunication or Others sector (13.37 crore or 3.17%), Manufacturing (Rs 42.50 crore or 1.01%), Finance companies (24.83 crore or 0.59%) and Hotels (Rs 19.56 crore or 0.46%).
